These are being developed as an open source design and offered for anyone that likes to try new concepts, though they can’t be supplied free as it takes time and materials to make.

As any normal honey super, It’s very unlikely bees will build structure and store honey in these during winter or in poor conditions. You should see better results in the warmer months.

Item includes:

  • 2 x 20mm deep honey super frame
  • Painted on sides – Mating surfaces are unpainted
  • Frames are standard OATH dimensions, 280mm x 200mm.
  • 33mm Hoop Pine
  • 3mm perspex routed in and clear flexible binder cover on the other side
  • Frames only, box not included

  • Optional 34mm thick lid – sealed and painted

 

Installation

It may take experience to install these. Remove your old honey super and place this on top. Make sure to clean all mating surfaces and tape up any gaps to stop any pests like Syrphid Fly.

There’s many different box designs out there so you may need to make modifications for fitment. These frames are made with a generic fit in mind.
